Bio

were you too born in the wrong_decade?

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.

I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea;
But we loved with a love that was more than love--
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason, that long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her high-born kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre,
In this kingdom by the sea.

The angel, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me...
Yes!--that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.

But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we,
Of many far wiser than we--
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee,

For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling--my darling--my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

Pawn Shoppe Heart
I found my heart in a pawn shoppe, baby.
You took me for dead.
Dead, by the way you said.
I'm way past tense, I'm borderline crazy.
You took all my good love and gave it all away.
I've been on the back street.
I'm all alone.
I've been on the hot seat.
I'm gone, I'm gone.
Sweet little love of mine, take all you can.
I'm your pawn shoppe lover.
I'm your pawn shoppe broken-heart man.
With all your good looks, I still have nothing.
Break like the whip on my back, like a man.
Still have nothing.

THE WORLD AT LARGE

Ice-age heat wave, can't complain. If the world's at large, why should I remain? Walked away to another plan. Gotta find another place, maybe one I can stand. I move on to another day, to a whole new town with a whole new way. Went to the porch to have a thought. Got to the door and again, I couldn't stop. You don't know where and you don't know when. But you still got your words and you got your friends. Walk along to another day. Work a little harder, work another way. Well uh-uh baby I ain't got no plan. We'll float on maybe would you understand? Gonna float on maybe would you understand? The days get shorter and the nights get cold. I like the autumn but this place is getting old. I pack my belongings and I head for the coast. It might not be a lot but I feel like i'm making the most. The days get longer and the nights smell green. I guess it's not surprising but it's spring and I should leave. I like songs about drifters-books about the same. They both seem to make me feel a little less insane. Walked on off to another spot. I still haven't got anywhere that I want. Did I want love? Did I need to know? Why does it always feel like i'm caught in an undertow? The moths beat themselves to death against the lights. Adding their breeze to the summer nights. Outside, water like air was great. I didn't know what I had that day. Walk a little farther to another plan. You said that you did, but you didn't understand. I know that starting over is not what life's about. But my thoughts were so loud I couldn't hear in my mouth.
